Who we are
Plainwork is a technology services business based in Valley Center, Kansas, serving small businesses in and around Wichita. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit plainwork’s website, book a call, or contact us, what we do with it, and what you can do about it.
If you become a client, a separate Data-Handling Agreement covers the business systems and data we work inside. This policy is about the website and our marketing.
Short version: we collect what we need to reply to you and run the site, we don’t sell it, and you can ask us to delete it.
What we collect and why
When you fill out a form or book a call: your name, business name, email, phone number, and whatever you type in the message box. We use it to reply to you, schedule the call, and follow up about the services you asked about. That’s the only reason we have it.
When you email, call, or text us: the contents of that conversation and your contact details, kept so we can keep track of what we’ve talked about.
When you visit the site: standard technical information your browser sends (pages viewed, approximate location by region, device type, how you got here). We use it to see which pages are useful and whether the site is working. See Cookies and analytics below for the details.
We don’t collect payment information on this website. If you become a client, invoices are handled through Stripe, which has its own policy.
We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. This site is for business owners.
Cookies and analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It doesn’t use cookies and doesn’t track you across other websites; it records only aggregate, anonymous counts.
We don’t use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or social media trackers.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it with anyone for their own marketing.
We do use a few services to run the business, and your information passes through them for that purpose only:
- Email, including the inbox where form and booking notifications arrive: Zoho
- Scheduling: our own booking tool on this site, with no third-party scheduling cookies. It stores each booking in Google Calendar: your name, business name, email, phone number, your one line, and the call time.
- Website hosting and the contact form: Cloudflare Pages (the form itself stores nothing; it passes your message on to the two services below)
- Lead follow-up automation: our own automation, run by Plainwork
- Sending form and booking confirmations, and lead and booking notifications: Resend
- Analytics: Cloudflare Web Analytics, plus a count of each form sent and call booked (a number only, nothing about you)
- Invoicing: Stripe, if you become a client
Each outside service has its own privacy policy. We pick services that don’t resell customer data.
We’ll also share information if the law requires it, or if it’s needed to protect someone’s safety or our legal rights.
How long we keep it and how we protect it
Inquiries we keep for up to two years, so if you come back later we remember the conversation. Client records we keep for as long as you’re a client plus seven years, for tax and legal reasons. Analytics data is kept in aggregate and isn’t tied to you.
We protect what we hold with the basics done right: accounts with strong unique passwords and two-factor authentication, encrypted connections, access limited to the people who need it, and devices that lock and encrypt. No system is perfectly secure, and if something happens to your information we’ll tell you promptly and plainly.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what information we have about you
- Correct it
- Delete it (unless we’re required to keep it, in which case we’ll say so)
- Stop sending you marketing emails (every one has an unsubscribe link, or just reply and say so)
Email [email protected] or call (316) 330-3497. We’ll respond within 30 days, usually much faster.
If you’re outside the United States, you have additional rights under your local law, and we’ll honor them. Note that our systems are run from the U.S.
If you’re a client
Doing the work means we’re inside your business systems: your website, your scheduling tool, your CRM, sometimes your accounting. That access, and your customers’ information inside those systems, is governed by the Data-Handling Agreement we sign before we touch a login, not by this policy.
The short version of that agreement: we take only the access the job needs, we list every login we hold, you can revoke any of it at any time, we never copy your customers’ data out of your systems except to do the work you asked for, and everything we build stays yours.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we’ll say so on the site for 30 days.
