About Plainwork

Plainwork is led by Kaden, a developer who has built websites, custom software, and integrations for small businesses since 2019. Lawn care, home builders, coffee shops, retail, medical training. Different industries, the same problem every time: good people doing by hand what their computers should be doing for them.

He lives and works in Valley Center, owns a building on Main Street, and runs the Explore Valley Center community site. Plainwork is Kaden. Not a franchise, not a call center. You'll run into him at the hardware store.

One person, start to finish

The person who walks through your business is the same person who builds the fix and keeps it running. No account manager. No ticket queue. No handoff to someone you've never met. When you text, Kaden answers.

Why on-site

You can't fix a workflow you've never watched. The things that cost a business the most time are rarely the things the owner mentions on a call. They're the things everyone is so used to that nobody brings them up. The only way to find them is to stand next to the person doing the work.

Why local

Plainwork is based in Valley Center and works on-site across Wichita and the surrounding towns: Park City, Maize, Derby, Andover, Haysville, Goddard, Bel Aire, Kechi, and the rest of Sedgwick County. Close by means the Walkthrough happens in your building, not on a screen. It also means you'll see us around town, not just on a call. Remote work can go anywhere.

What we promise about your data

Before we touch a single login, we sign a data-handling agreement with you. It's written so a business owner can read it in five minutes. The short version:

  • We only take the access the job needs, and we write down every login we hold.
  • You can see that list any time and cut off any of it any time.
  • We don't copy your data out of your systems except to do the work you asked for.
  • Your customers' information is yours. We don't use it, share it, or sell it.
  • If something goes wrong, you hear it from us first, fast, and in full.
  • When we're done, everything we built is yours, and our access ends.

The Data-Handling Agreement, in more detail

It covers every Plainwork engagement, from a one-day Walkthrough to a monthly plan. Here is what it holds us to.

Access. We ask for the lowest level of access that does the job: editor instead of owner, read-only where that's enough. Wherever a system allows it, you create a separate user for Plainwork, so you can see what we did and remove us without changing your own password. If the work needs a new system, we ask first, in writing. You can remove any of our access at any time, for any reason.

The access register. We keep a written list of every system we can reach, the level of access, how it was granted, and when. You get a copy at the start, at every change, and whenever you ask.

What we don't do with your data. We don't copy it to our own systems except for the task at hand. We don't use it to help anyone else, including other clients. We don't sell, rent, share, or trade it. We don't use it to train AI models, ours or anyone else's. We don't make changes to live data without telling you first and, where practical, taking a backup.

Your customers. We don't contact your customers, add them to any list, or use their information for anything other than making your systems work. If a task touches sensitive information, we flag it and ask whether you want us in there at all.

Keeping it safe. Two-factor authentication wherever a system supports it. A password manager for every credential. Encrypted devices that lock themselves. Working copies of your data deleted when the task is done.

If something goes wrong. If we break something, we tell you and fix it at no charge. If there's a security incident, we call you within 24 hours of finding it and tell you what happened. We never quietly fix an incident and leave it out.

Other people and tools. If anyone other than Plainwork will touch your systems, we tell you who, why, and for how long, and you can say no. Software subscriptions are passed through at cost and kept in your name wherever possible.

When we part ways. Everything we built is yours. Within 10 business days we hand over the documentation, move any accounts in our name to you, remove our access from everything on the register, and delete any working copies of your data. No exit fee.

Confidentiality. What we learn about your business stays with us. We don't use you as a case study or reference without your written okay.

Let's walk through your business.

One day on-site. A written list of everything that's costing you time, and what to fix first. No pitch deck, no pressure.
